Weekly Buzz | Learning and Input Opportunities This Week in Burlington
Wednesday is a big day in several different areas
Hello and Happy Weekend, Buzzers!
This week, as I mentioned before, we have several events coming up that might interest you.
Public Health Excellence Grant. On Wednesday, February 15, at 3:00 PM, the Board of Health will be holding a Meet and Greet as the Public Health Excellence Grant is presented to Burlington from the MA Association of Health Boards. As reported by BCAT, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health has awarded this grant, which provides $300,000 over three years to the towns of Lexington, Wilmington, and Burlington, to augment their current programming and allow the towns to share resources. Learn more at the event by viewing the invitation linked below, and email Kathleen Capobianco to RSVP if you’d like to attend. The event will be held at Grand View Farm.

️ Burlington is entering the next phase of the Middlesex Ave-Mall Road corridor rezoning initiative, and the town is seeking your input about the project! From the Economic Development Office, “The Town has identified nearly 100 acres of development potential within the commercial district, most of which exists as under-utilized surface parking lots.” The aim of this project is to enhance walkability and “maintain a buzzy Burlington vibe.” Here is more information about this initiative and this Wednesday’s 7:00 PM virtual meeting. Register for the meeting here.
Also on Wednesday at 7:00 PM, Kadilak Realty Group will be hosting a free seminar for first-time home-buyers at their office at 3 Mountain Road, 2nd floor.
This class is perfect for anyone ready to be in-the-know for their homeownership journey. Topics include:
Is now a good time to buy?
What are the steps in the process?
How much of a down payment do I need?
How much are closing costs?
How do I get a good deal?
Tax benefits of owning versus renting

The Buzz goes on vacation! I’ll be gone Thursday thru Monday, and, while I’ll have my computer with me, I definitely don’t plan to get up at 5am each morning and write the Buzz! So—You might hear from me, but chances are I’ll just take the long weekend off and be back on Tuesday.

That’s all for today. See you tomorrow!
