Track & Field League Championship Meet Today

The boys' and girls' high school hockey teams skate into the week with a ranking of 19 and 13 in their division, respectively. The rankings were calculated before two big wins at the Ice Palace this weekend: Girls scored a big 5-1 victory over Stoneham-Wilmington, with Steiner scoring a hat trick and Tremblay and Cleary each scoring one. For the boys, Torpey scored his first season goal to shut out Stoneham 1-0.

The wrestling team had a strong showing this weekend, as well, as they came in 13th out of 31 teams at the Concord, NH, tournament. The team came home with 20 wins total, including second place finishes for Shvartsman and Bonnell.

The basketball teams both fell to Watertown on Friday, bringing their records to 9-5 for the boys and 9-6 for the girls. The boys finished with a score of 57-45, while girls played two overtimes and just fell short at 52-50. Before those games, the teams sat at 15 (boys) and 29 (girls) in the power rankings; it's still looking like all four hockey and basketball teams will play in the state tournament, as the top 32 teams are guaranteed a spot.
