Red Devils Riding Momentum as Season Winds Down
A winning weekend overall in Burlington sports gives way to the last few regular season meetups.

The Red Devils boys' and girls' basketball teams put up strong efforts against Wakefield on Friday, but only the boys were able to translate that work into a win. They're now 16th in Division 2 after a 68-52 win against the Warriors, while the girls' close 35-31 loss slid them down to #33 with just a handful of games left in the regular season. The top 32 teams are guaranteed a place in the league championship, while those on the bubble may participate in wildcard opportunities.
The hockey teams both notched their third W in a row against Melrose on Saturday. Girls won 4-1, and boys beat the Red Hawks with a score of 1-0. The boys are now 17th in Division 1, while girls have risen to 10th in Division 2.
The swim team was at sectionals this weekend, which were delayed a few hours due to the snow storm. Shay Woodbury took 9th in the 100 backstroke and 20th in the 100 freestyle. The state championship will be held this Sunday at Boston University.
And, the wrestling team took two wins and a loss at their quad meet on Saturday i in Waltham. They came in over Bishop Fenwick/Northeast Voc (48-25) and Waltham (40-34) and fell to Southwick (34-47), bringing their record to 6-19.
Today there's more wresting on the calendar as the team travels to Watertown, as well as a gymnastics meet at 5:00.
