Hockey Team Falls to Belmont in Nail Biter
Both hockey teams fall to strong Belmont teams; gymnastics takes center stage today.
The boys' and girls' hockey teams both lost their games at the Ice Palace yesterday afternoon. Girls held their own against the Marauders, who were 9-0-1 in Division 1, but only managed one goal to Belmont's 2; Lady Devils are now 6-4. At last report, the girls' team was ranked 12 in Division 2 in the state's power rankings.
The boys took it into overtime but couldn't answer Belmont's goal and ended the game with a score of 4-3 and a 6-4-1 record. Going into the game, the team was ranked in 15th in Division 1.
There is still plenty of play to be had this season, which doesn't end until the week of February Break.
This afternoon, we've got 7th/8th grade boys' wrestling at Lexington Christian Academy at 3:00 and a gymnastics meet against Wilmington at home at 6:30.
