High School Athletics Tournaments Extend Into the Weekend
Girls' hockey and basketball and boys' basketball games make for a busy weekend in Burlington athletics.
The three Red Devils teams that remain in the MIAA state tournament will be playing this weekend, kicking off on Friday with a boys' basketball game.
The #15 boys' basketball team will take on Chicopee this evening at Burlington High School at 6:00 PM. The boys went 14-6 this season and have had over a week off since their last regular season game to prepare for this Round of 32 match.
Playing in the Round of 16 on Saturday will be Lady Devils hockey, who also went 14-6-0 in the regular season. Their 9-2 win over Beverly/Danvers/Ipswich earned them a bout against Pembroke tomorrow at 2:20 at the Burlington Ice Palace.
Also on Saturday, the girls' basketball team will take on #6 Worcester South in a Round of 32 away game after winning their preliminary matchup against Lowell earlier this week.
