Burlington sports teams are in the midst of their season openers, with mixed results. And, news from the robotics team!

The DevilBotz robotics team has much to celebrate, and much preparation to do, as they have secured their official invite to this week's FIRST Robotics New England District Championship. Matches against 89 other of the best teams in New England will begin this Thursday, April 4 and continue through Saturday, April 6th.

There were mixed results from yesterday's sports outings:

Boys lost their tennis game in Lexington with a score of 1-4, and girls lost at home against Lexington 5-0. The girls' softball team, beat Reading 7-6 in their first game of the season. It was a tight one, won at the very last pitch. The baseball games planned for yesterday were canceled.

We've got a jam-packed schedule today:

  • Boys' lacrosse hosts Reading, with JV playing at 4:00 and varsity at 5:30.
  • Girls play at Reading and reverse that timing: Varsity plays at 4:00 and the JV game is at 5:30.
  • Our baseball teams travel to Lexington, with both JV and varsity teams playing at 4:15.
  • Our boys' volleyball team heads to Framingham for a 4:30 varsity game and a 6:00 JV game.

Best of luck to all our teams on their season openers!
