Burlington Girls Bring Home the Win in Soccer Opener
The girls' soccer team had a strong showing at their season opener against the Reading Rockets yesterday at the Marshall Simonds Field. Five goals, spread out among five different players, brought the Lady Devils a decisive win for their first game of the year. Senior Lacey Lauder earned Player of the Match, as her hard work over the summer led to tangible growth on the field that the whole team could see.
Today, freshman soccer teams take their shot at Reading, with girls playing at the Rockets at 4:00 and boys hosting at Memorial Elementary at 4:15. Volleyball and field hockey home games are also in the lineup: The field hockey teams take the field at BHS for their season opener against Reading at 4:15 (varsity) and 5:30 (JV), and the varsity volleyball team plays Reading at 5:30 at the BHS wood gym after the freshman and JV teams kick things off at 4:15.
Best of luck to all Burlington athletes competing in today's season openers!
