Burlington Brings Home State JV Wrestling Titles
Lots of strong performances for freshman and JV wrestlers; state tourney begins today

Red Devils Wrestling had a strong week with three wrestlers qualifying at Sectionals to wrestle at the state varsity meet and a number of strong performances at the Junior Varsity and Freshman levels.
Cameron Bonnell took 3rd in his weight class at Sectionals on February 15th, Maximillian Shvartsman took 4th, and Josh Leavitt took 5th; all will be competing starting today at the state tournament.
The Devils put up very strong performances at the JV & Freshman State competition: Brayden Shortell took 3rd at JV states, while Lukas Abreu and Christos Tasiopoulos both took 2nd. Kai Gong also took 2nd at JV states, as well as 3rd in the Freshman competition.
Noah Nicholson took the JV state title in his class, as did David Vahovskiy with six wins and a 4th place finish in Freshman states to boot.
On today's schedule: Wrestling at the varsity state tournament, as well as a boys' basketball game at 7:00 at Beverly.
Tournament brackets will be released tomorrow for the state basketball and hockey tournaments. Final power rankings are as follows:
- Girls' basketball (Division 2): 27th
- Boys' basketball (D2): 15th
- Girls' hockey (D2): 8th
- Boys' hockey (D1): 20th
