Boys' Track Wins Season Opener

The boys' track team, defending Middlesex League champs, won their first meet of the season against Melrose, with the Red Devils topping Melrose in just about every event. The girls didn't come out as strong, with the Red Hawks besting them overall, though they did perform well in many events including the javelin, shot put, 400 meter, and 2 mile races.

The volleyball teams lost their games yesterday, with the JV team going 1-2 and the varsity team 0-3 against Winchester.

Today's athletics calendar is full, with tennis, softball, baseball, and lacrosse games against Arlington.

The tennis teams kick things off, with girls hosting the Spy Ponders at Rahanis at 4:00 and boys traveling to Arlington for a 4:15 game.

Next up is softball, with 4:15 games at Rotary (JV) and Marvin (varsity) Fields.

The baseball teams also play at 4:15, but they'll be on the road in Arlington.

The girls' lacrosse teams host the Spy Ponders here in Burlington, with the JV team playing at 4:30 at the middle school and the varsity team taking to Varsity Field at 6:00. The boys' teams will play at 4:30 (varsity) and 6:15 (JV) in Arlington.
