Boys' Track Season Opens With New School Record
The track teams opened their winter seasons yesterday at the Track at New Balance against Melrose, and the boys' team was celebrating before the meet even ended, as Sean Cox put up a time of 6.72s on the 55-meter dash, a new school record. The boys lost the meet overall by a score of 57-43 , with several athletes qualifying for the MIAA end-of-season tournament. Girls lost their meet to Melrose 62-37 but put up a number of strong performances including first in the 300, 600, high jump, and 800 relay.
The basketball teams ended the week with mixed results; girls were bested by Watertown in a close 26-23 game, and boys won their game 52-40.
This weekend brings the Lowell Holiday Tournament for Red Devils Wrestling; the seeds have been released, and the team is looking forward to carrying the momentum from their last win into this matchup.
Boys' swim has a meet today at 7:00 at Reading; the hockey teams play tomorrow in Arlington, with boys playing at 12:40 and girls at 8:10. JV boys' hockey will play at Watertown at 8:00 on Sunday evening.
