Basketball Wins, Hockey & Wrestling Losses Kick Off Season
The first full week of winter sports kicks off this week for the Red Devils, and the Basketball teams are bringing a 1-0 record into the week. Girls won their first game last week against Reading with a score of 49-41, with boys taking a 51-40 win against the Rockets.
Both boys' and girls' hockey teams lost to Reading, with boys getting one goal on the board but still falling 3-1. Girls suffered a 4-0 shut out to the Rockets.
While many wrestlers put up strong individual performances, the wrestling team lost their quad match against Milford, Tyngsboro/Dracut, and Chelmsford this weekend. Eight freshmen and ten first-year wrestlers were in the lineup, and coach Paul Shvartsman is eager to watch this team grow over the season.
This week brings a full complement of sports to the Devils' schedule, starting off today with boys' swimming against Arlington at Burlington's home water, the pool at Shawsheen Tech.
