Weekly Buzz | Parents, Do You Prefer Full or Half Days for Teacher Professional Development?

Hello! Getting a slow start on this side of town today. But that’s ok, because it’s gorgeous outside!

I have something cool for you this week, especially if you are a parent with kids in Burlington Public Schools. Tenth graders at BHS want to know whether you prefer full or half days for teacher workdays.

Currently, kids have five days off each year so that teachers can engage in full-day professional development. The main question of the survey (which took me less than five minutes to complete) was: Would you prefer the current state of 5 full day professional development days or moving to 10 half days?

The results will be shared with some School Committee members and Dr. Conti. So—Help some civics students out and offer your input! Fill out that survey right here!

Sports and Activities

Mixed results from Friday night’s volleyball game; JV lost 0-2, while Varsity won 3-1 in Framingham. Varsity won their game yesterday, too, with a score of 3-2 and officially qualifying for states.

Our baseball team won 10-5 against Bedford on Saturday, and while the boys’ lacrosse team lost 20-8 and the JV girls lost 13-7 this weekend, the varsity girls won 16-14.

The spring sports season is nearing its end, but we still have time to catch the tail end of the games. This week we’ll see tennis, baseball, lacrosse, and more.

That’s it for today. Sorry I’m so late; I’ll be back in 12 hours or less with a very brief Daily.

See you then!
