Good Morning, Burlington!
Yesterday was a glorious day for Walk, Bike, and Roll to School Day at Fox Hill. Bike racks overflowed, and it seemed like nearly the entire student body arrived car-free. Opportunities for active transportation to school are presented multiple times per year in conjunction with Massachusetts Safe Routes to Schools. If your school does not participate and you’re interested in spinning up a program, contact Melissa Massardo.
Seventh Graders Can Register for Shawsheen's Project Explore After-School Program
Shawsheen Valley Technical High School has opened registration for its annual Project Explore after-school program for 7th graders in the towns it serves. For three weeks, interested students will attend a twice-weekly exploration of some of the vocational offerings at Shawsheen Tech. Bus transportation will be provided to and from the program, and a light snack will be served. If you know a seventh grader who would be interested in checking out this great technical high school that serves our community, please check out the registration page. Burlington’s session runs January 30 and February 1, 6, 8, 13, and 15. For more information, contact Erin Dailey - 978-671-3613 or edailey@shawtech.org (Shawsheen) or Dianna Wyllie - 781-270-1764 or dwyllie@bpsk12.org (MSMS).
Applications are also open for 8th graders wishing to attend Shawsheen for high school. Application information can be found here. Note that this year, guidance/teacher recommendations are requested from all families.
Finally, there will be a Community Open House at Shawsheen on Sunday, November 5, from 2:00-4:00 PM. This event is open to the public for all grades. Find more info here.
