Daily Buzz | Four Shawsheen Tech Students of the Month are from Burlington

Hey, Burlington, it’s already Wednesday!

Shawsheen Tech announced their Students of the Month for Semester 1 yesterday, and there were 4 students on the list from Burlington! Be sure to check it out.

Thanks from the Burlington Equity Coalition to the huge number of candidates who have returned their form for the Candidate Guide. Last year, this guide reached over 2,000 Burlington residents, and this year it’s likely to reach even more. If you’re a candidate (or if you know a candidate) who hasn’t returned a form yet, please get it in ASAP. Even if your race is uncontested, a complete profile shows residents you’re serious about your candidacy. The Candidate Guide goes live very soon, and you don’t want to miss your chance!

I spoke with one of seven candidates (for only six seats!) for Precinct 6 Town Meeting Members last night. If you’re running for Precinct 6 TMM, I want to talk to you! Look out for an email from me.

I wasn’t able to attend any of the meetings last night, but be sure to watch the replays on Facebook if you’re interested in any of them.

Here’s the rundown for today.

  • 4:00 PM - Board of Assessors regular meeting.
  • 7:00 PM - Capital Budget meets to discuss their endorsement guide and see a presentation on the Community Preservation Act.
  • 7:00 PM - Historical Commission meets to talk about various items of interest including the 250th anniversary celebration.
  • 7:00 PM - Ways & Means meets to review the budgets discussed by the various subcommittees this week. (Join via Webex)

And then, just like that, it’ll be Thursday.

Enjoy your day, neighbors.
