A Burlington student is in the running for Senior of the Year at Shawsheen Valley Technical High School after being recognized as senior of the month.

Burlington resident Reagan Bowden, an electrical student at Shawsheen Tech, is within the top 10 in her class. Her outstanding academic achievements were highlighted when she was named the female Senior of the Month for February. A resident of Burlington, Reagan embodies a unique blend of diligence, approachability, and athleticism.

Reagan earned CAC all-star titles in softball (2021) & volleyball (2023). She captained varsity volleyball this year & is in her 2nd year as varsity softball captain. Plus, she's in the top 10 academically! @shawsheen_sports

Shawsheen Tech spotlights two outstanding seniors each month who exemplify character, leadership, citizenship, service to the school and community, scholastic achievement and vocational competencies. Honored for their remarkable contributions to their class and Shawsheen Tech, these students are chosen with the expectation that they will become exemplary alumni, leaving a positive lasting impact on the community beyond graduation.

Her leadership skills are evident in her roles as the varsity volleyball captain during her senior year and her consecutive second-year tenure as the varsity softball team captain. Notably, Reagan earned the acclaimed softball CAC all-star title in 2021 and the volleyball CAC all-start title in 2023, marking her as a standout athlete in both sports. In fact, just last week, she was named Female Athlete of the Year!

Engaged in hands-on learning, Reagan actively participates in the cooperative education program at Shawsheen, lending her expertise to Driscoll Electric. Moreover, she is a respected member of National Honor Society and a competitor on Shawsheen’s SkillsUSA team, where she has won both bronze and silver medals.

After graduation, Reagan plans to enter the workforce full time as an electrical apprentice. She plans to pursue electrical code classes while continuing her education at night for a degree in accounting.
