Daily Buzz | Help the Town Plan for the Future!
And get some fresh air on the way to school!
Good Morning, Burlington!
Just a little potpourri this Friday to send you into the weekend and the coming week:
After a few years of inactivity, the Human Services Committee is re-forming and is looking for members. This is a subcommittee of Town Meeting, so if you’re a Town Meeting Member, I hope you’ll consider seeking a seat. From Town Meeting Member, Joanne Frustaci:
Are you invested in effective advocacy for both quality and equity of social services? Do you have ideas and input you think our town government could benefit from? Or would you just like to listen, learn about and contribute to an important committee that addresses the multifaceted human services Burlington provides? For instance, did you know that Burlington is one of only a handful of committed towns in MA that provide counseling services for families at low or no cost?
I am writing to encourage TMM's, especially newcomers, to consider requesting an appointment to the Human Services Committee. The purview is to work with town departments to consider proposed human services programs, and promote coordinated action and cooperation among various town officials and departments.
Feel free to call me for more information at 781-775-4509, or just submit your name to the moderator who makes appointments to the committee. The Community Communication Survey is still open for a few more days! Complete it here.
Fox Hill’s Walk, Bike, and Roll to School Day will be on Monday. If you’d like to join a train of families taking advantage of this program, meet at Veteran’s Park at 7:40 AM. Enjoy! I hope the weather holds out! (If other school are doing this, feel free to send me their announcements so I can spread the word!)
The Burlington Community Design Workshop will be held on May 23 (3:00-8:30 PM) and 24 (5:00-8:00 PM). This is a intensive workshop. so you’ll have to have some time on your calendar—but it’s also an amazing opportunity to provide input and learn more about the town’s vision for the future. Register here!
