Want to Be Informed Ahead of April's Town Election? Start Here.

Burlington's local elections happen each year in April, separate from any other state or national election. Voter turnout is always much lower in town elections than it is at primaries or national elections, in part because information about local issues and elections doesn't make it into the average resident's media diet.

Burlington Buzz got its start during Election Season 2022 because we were craving information about the seats up for election and the candidates running to fill them. Since then, a significant part of our charge has been to ensure residents feel informed and empowered to step up to the ballot box each April to make an informed decision. We've even offered webinars and information for prospective candidates to encourage folks to run for office if they feel they'd bring something to the role.

Our latest resource is our Guide to the 2025 Town Election, which provides an overview of each of the roles up for election, the candidates seeking to fill those roles, and the ballot questions that voters will be asked to weigh in on. Click below to access the full (FREE!) guide. We've included a printable version, too, which can be printed back-to-back on an 8.5x11 paper and folded.

You can access the entirety of our local election resources, including interviews, podcasts, a ballot summary, and Town Meeting Member profiles, at our ELECTION CORNER.
