Daily Buzz | Town Meeting Votes Against Smoke Shop Restrictions
Short yet productive session moves several initiatives forward
Good morning!
I hope you all enjoyed watching Town Meeting on BCAT last night!
Wait. You didn’t watch? Oh, fine. Never fear! I am here for you.
For a rundown of all the articles and whether or not they passed (Spoiler alert: all but one passed) and some details of the debates, check Twitter or the official Town Meeting article below.
Today in Burlington
I need to apologize to Karin of the Garden Club and Linda of the Presbyterian Church for neglecting to mention your events yesterday. I didn’t follow my own procedure, and while your events were on the Weekly Buzz, I missed adding them to the Daily yesterday, and I didn’t realize it until it was too late. I’m so sorry!
Just a few events today:
- 4:30-8:30 PM - Town Center Beer Garden featuring Medusa and local food places. As of the creation of this newsletter, I’m not sure which food places, but I am positive they’ll be yummy! Don’t forget proceeds from the Beer Gardens benefit our food pantry, People Helping People.
- 5:00 PM - Housing Partnership Committee will continue talking about the Grandview Farms residence application and also discuss Pumpkin Patch volunteering (another project that benefits People Helping People!) (Join online)
- 7:00 PM - Transportation Committee meets to finalize transportation recommendations to the Select Board.

Yesterday’s Results
In field hockey, Varsity girls lost 3-0 and JV tied 1-1 in Wakefield. In cross country, Soph Althea Wolinski took first with a time of 23:30, but the girls fell to Stoneham overall 37-21, while the boys won 20-15. Our Freshman boys’ soccer team lost in Wakefield 3-0.
Today’s Schedule
- Golf at Stoneham from 9-1.
- JV and Varsity boys’ soccer games against Wilmington at 4:15.
- Volleyball against Wakefield on the road starting at 5:00.
My eyes are crossing, so I will sign off for now. Maybe we’ll see each other at the Beer Garden tonight!
