Municipal Meetings and Community Events

  • 6:00 PM - Select Board hasn’t met in a while, and they’ve got a pretty full agenda. The Housing Authority will join for a portion, and the two Boards are expected to make a joint appointment to fill a vacancy on Housing Authority until the April election. They’ll also make some more appointments, accept a donated picnic table for the Town Common, hold public hearings for liquor licenses at Raja & Rana’s and Town & Country, and more. Public input is scheduled for 6:50 PM. (Town Hall and Virtual)
  • 7:00 PM - Fox Hill School Building Committee will discuss the referendum idea that they voted to approve at their last meeting: the idea is to approach the Select Board (which they’ll have done earlier this evening) to discuss holding a referendum vote to get a better sense of public sentiment around building a combined Fox Hill-Pine Glen school or a smaller Fox Hill. They’ll also review the subcommittee meetings that have been held in the last few weeks and discuss the upcoming community forum. Public input will be welcomed for 15 minutes at both the beginning and the end of the meeting. (BHS and Virtual)
  • 7:00 PM - Zoning Bylaw Review Committee Sign Subcommittee will discuss the Signage Districts Guide and the Bylaw article related to signage. (Virtual)
  • 7:00 PM - An Evening with Author Nan Fischer (Zoom) (Library event; Register)

Sports and Activities

Tryouts start today for most of the Shawsheen and BHS fall sports!

That’s all I’ve got for you today. I’ll be back tomorrow with some notes from Select Board and School Building Committee. See you then!
