Daily Buzz | How Many Committees Can Meet in a Single Day?
Most of them, it turns out
Hello and Good Day!
I hope you enjoyed yesterday’s rundown of the Planning Board appointment process. A few questions came out of that little mini-essay, and I hope to be able to answer them for you soon. Yesterday was a busy one personally, and so I’m going to get to the day’s news without a lot of commentary. While you’re scrolling, though, don’t forget to share the Buzz with everyone you know in Burlington!
Today in Burlington
Busy evening today. Thanks to two joint meetings, this might be the largest tally of Boards that are meeting in one day since the Buzz started in February.
- 4:30 PM - Joint Meeting: Planning Board Sculpture Park Subcommittee and Historical Commission to meet. There has been tension between these groups on the use of the land where the Sculpture Park sits, and I imagine this is to figure out how they can both use the space harmoniously.
- 5:00 PM - Open House at People Helping People Food Pantry, 21 Murray Ave. Come join us!
- 5:30 PM - Board of Health Subcommittee Meeting for Supervisory Nurse interviews. (Join via webex)
- 6:00 PM - Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee meets to talk about the meetings they’ve been having with other Boards and Commissions around town and to discuss a Select Board + DEIC performance evaluation. (Join via webex)
- 6:30 PM - Joint Meeting Between the Zoning Bylaw Review Committee, Planning Board, & Land Use to talk about September Town Meeting Warrant Articles (What’s a Warrant Article?) and other upcoming issues of concern to these Boards. (Join via Zoom)
All in all, it’s shaping up to be a busy few hours. I’m hoping it will be productive, but I’ll miss most of the Government meetings because I’ll be at People Helping People! Hope to catch you there!
