Daily Buzz | Housing Authority Vacancy
Plus, library events for all ages
Good Morning!
The Burlington Housing Authority, the majority-elected body (with one resident, appointed by the governor) that administers the public housing in town, is seeking a new member to serve until April’s town election.
Openings like this happen when a member does not complete the term for which they’re elected; in that case, the Select Board and the body meet jointly to make an appointment that lasts until the end of the current term (April of each year). At that point, the seat becomes open for election for the number of years remaining on the term.
The joint meeting to fill the Housing Authority seat will be held on Monday, August 21, and those interested in being considered for this position should submit a letter of interest addressed to the Select Board along with a brief bio via email. The Housing Authority meets one Thursday each month at 9:00 AM.
