Daily Buzz | Meet Your New Assistant Superintendent
And don't miss tomorrow's real estate workshop
Good morning, Burlington!
After nearly an entire school year without an assistant superintendent, the district has hired Dr. Lisa Chen to fill this role for this upcoming school year. Dr. Chen has 25 years of experience as a teacher and a school and district leader in both Virginia and Massachusetts, as well as holding a PhD in Education Administration from BC and a Master’s in English Education from NYU and Oxford.
In an interview with BCAT’s news producer, Sydney Boles, Dr. Chen explains that her passion for education stems from early experiences with teachers who saw her talents while she was still learning to become proficient in English. She is excited to work with Dr. Conti and to get to know our town.
Currently, Dr. Chen is the Director of Middle School Education and Professional and Virtual Learning in the rural community of Louisa, VA. She will be joining the BPS team this summer.
