Weekly Buzz | This Burlington Business Wants You to Be Wealthy
And they'll teach you how to get there--for free
Good Morning, Burlington!
It’s back to school tomorrow, so give yourself a few extra minutes on the roads. This week also marks the end of Black History Month. There’s one event on our calendar for this week, but if you know any more, please reach out and let us know!
Speaking of the end of the month, February 28 is a special day in Burlington, as it marks the day our town was incorporated. This year, Burlington will celebrate 225 years as a town separate from Woburn, of which it was a ward prior to 1799. And what would a birthday be without cake? Make plans to come celebrate with a big Burlington birthday cake this Wednesday afternoon/evening at Grand View Farm. At that event, the five finalists will be presented for Burlington’s “I Voted” sticker contest, and attendees will vote on the winner.
Voting, by the way, is a right afforded to U.S Citizens. For the next six weeks, the town of Burlington will be collaborating with a number of local libraries to offer a citizenship class each Saturday morning at Woburn Public Library. The course topics will include the naturalization process and will prepare participants for the citizenship interview. In order to participate, students must have an intermediate understanding of English and either hold a green card for the last 4.6 years OR 3 years if married to a US citizen. If you or someone you know would be interested in taking this class, be sure to get registered soon!
