Weekly Buzz | Coffeehouse Event this Saturday
Also, volunteers needed for Fall Friends' Book Sale
Hello and Happy Weekend, Burlington!
There is no shortage of autumn events to be had in Burlington, and today we highlight one coming up in just a few days. The United Church of Christ, Congregational, is holding a coffeehouse event on Saturday, October 21, from 7:00-9:30 PM. From UCC’s Deana Trudeau:
Please join us for a celebration of Harmony, Pie & Fellowship.
If you are looking to enjoy some great music over homemade fall treats, cider, tea and of course, coffee, then come to the Coffeehouse sponsored by the UCC Special Music Committee... We offer a harvest of great contemporary and traditional folk, Americana and bluegrass music with wonderful harmonies while showcasing seasoned local talent, such as Ted Brierley, the Three of Cups (Debbie Claar & Ann-Marie Messbauer), Cathy Beyer, Sarah Clark, Brian Gionet, Reverend Andrew Harris, Julie Lewis, Chris and Liz Silva, and a featured guest from Temple Shalom Emeth: Ben Silver. Mike Tredeau will emcee the event.
Tickets for this event, which include refreshments, will be $15 for adults or $12 for seniors; that price goes down with advance purchase, which you can arrange by calling the Church office at 781-272-4547. All proceeds will support the general fund of the Church and the Special Music fund.
Also of note:
- The Friends of the Burlington Public Library are seeking volunteers to support their book sale this weekend. Slots are available for setup, cleanup, and the sale itself. Sign up here or call 781-832-0028.
- Today, don’t miss Miles for Mental Health at the MSMS track at 11:00 (registration started at 10:00; optional donations to NAMI are appreciated) and Trunk or Treat sponsored by the Girl Scouts at BHS from 2:00-4:00 PM (please bring an optional donation for the Food Pantry).
