Looking for Something to Do This Vacation Week? Look No Further
Enjoy a variety of learning, creative, and active activities during February vacation week.
School vacation week is upon us and, if you're like most, you've been so busy focusing on what's in front of you that you haven't had the chance to think about how you and your family will spend your time. Fortunately, Burlington has a variety of options from full-day camps to half-hour classes to stay-at-home fun and more for people of all ages. Here are just a few.
Take a Class
Now set up in their new location at 111 Middlesex Turnpike, hometown crafts store, Made in Burlington, has a number of classes for adults and kids alike during vacation week. From magic wands to sea glass succulents to winter crafts, you're sure to find something to enjoy. And, what's more, you can shop some local handmade goods when the class is over.
Another option near Burlington is Pinot's Palette, which has step-by-step painting classes nearly every day of the week. Paint a Magical Rainbow Moon, a Sweetheart Gnome, or even your own pet at these two-hour classes. Or, send your kids for a full-day workshop where they might paint a winter scene, a beloved character, or more.
Watch a Movie
Seniors, enjoy a showing of the new Wicked movie at 12:30 on Wednesday, February 19. RSVP by calling the Council on Aging at 781-270-1951.
The Burlington Public Library Sunday cinema series is showing romantic comedies this month. On Sunday, February 16, Moonstruck will be featured, and the following weekend they'll show Hitch. Shows begin at 1:30.
The BCAT Cinema Series is back, and host Chris Flaherty will be showing How to Train your Dragon on Friday, February 21. Guests will engage in discussion both before and after the showing, and there will be trivia.

Water safety and swimming skills are useful all year long. Goldfish has Jump-Start Clinics with space still left for many ages. These week-long clinics meet at the same time each day and are designed to quickly enhance kids' water safety, awareness, and swimming skills.
Kids in grades 3-5 will learn how people saw at night or in the dark before electricity in Lighting the Way! An Apprentice Historian Program by the Lexington Historical Society on Tuesday, February 18. Older kids (Grades 6-7) can learn about Science & Medicine of the past on Thursday, February 20.
Have Some Fun
The library has a ton of fun programming in store this week, but probably the most exciting thing on the agenda is the Lock-in Community Game Night & Pizza Party on Friday, February 21. Arrive between 5:30 and 6:00 and partake in a variety of fun community-building activities, including board games, card games, and more. Whether you're with a group or flying solo, this event promises to be a blast. No registration is required, but be sure to arrive before the library locks its doors!
