Dozens of Ways to Stay Active in Burlington this June
There are dozens of ways to stay active in Burlington this June and beyond!
Whether you're a preschooler (if so, nice work reading this!) or a great-grandparent, Burlington offers a host of different ways to keep yourself active this month.
Seniors, head out to the Council on Aging or log in online for conditioning or cardio from Sophia, or head upstairs for some Tai Chi on Thursday mornings. The fitness room is open mornings, and the walking group meets twice weekly—the perfect way to prepare to join the Council on Aging in the 4th of July parade coming up in just four short weeks! For more information about senior fitness programs, check out the COA's Senior Spotlight.
The Recreation Department also offers classes at affordable prices for seniors, adults, teens, kids, and even babies. Register yourself for Zumba, golf, yoga, basketball, or an outdoor total body fitness class, or get your kiddos into CrossFit, dance, swimming, boxing...the possibilities are endless! The Recreation Department also offers a Therapeutic Recreation program featuring bike & swimming lessons, horseback riding, and much more. (The deadline for signing up for summer Therapeutic Recreation was last week, but keep the program in mind when planning fall activities!)
For some unstructured recreation, head out to Mill Pond for a walk around the reservoir or Mary Cummings Park to kick the soccer ball around and watch the bunnies and birds.
