Good morning!

I’ve got a rolling selection of quick hits for you this morning:

  • I’m sure you’ve seen the sponsored posts from People Helping People, but I wanted to call some more focused attention to the Walk for Hunger. Our local food pantry is once again preparing to lace up their walking shoes for Project Bread’s Walk for Hunger on May 7. This charity event is held annually to raise awareness about food insecurity and funds to combat it. Sixty percent of all funds raised by People Helping People go directly to PHP, while 40% go to Project Bread’s efforts to combat food insecurity for the more than 1 in 5 homes with children in Massachusetts who struggle with it. Get more information and sign up here.
  • Also on May 7, there will be a Senior Expo presented by Indian Americans of Greater Boston (IAGB). There will be workshops, exhibitions, and screenings to help ensure seniors and their caregivers have the information and resources to continue living their best lives in their golden years. Learn more and register here.
  • Speaking of seniors, there will be a focus group on communication between the town and its older residents at the Council on Aging next Thursday, May 4, at 12:30 PM to help gather information about how folks get their town information and what the town could do better. Plus there will be snacks! Please reach out to Marge Yetman by email or at 781-270-1950—or visit her in person at the COA.
  • Finally, May is Kindness Month, and HELPIS is having their Celebration of Kindness on May 19. Look for more information in the coming days, or prepare to dance the night away and get your ticket here!
