Daily Buzz | Job Fair Will Offer Opportunity to Those Seeking Summer Employment

Good Morning, Neighbor!

As you likely know by now, the Buzz does not get into national politics. But, we do believe an informed electorate is essential to a healthy democracy, so we are leaving Burlington’s preliminary results from yesterday’s Presidential Primary here for you to review.

For today, your one job is to take a look at the Recreation Department brochure, take copious notes, and get your clicking fingers ready for 6:00 this afternoon when registration opens. (Be sure to click that link and make sure you know your username and password with plenty of time to spare!)

Recreation offers a wide range of activities for literally all ages—from Parent & Me pre-preschool and dance classes to Over 50 Bocce and Pickleball and everything in between. There’s even a Jimmy Buffet tribute concert! Also in the catalog, Spring-a-Palooza—a collection of family-friendly activities kicking off on April 25 and lasting through May, which will include exploring vernal pools at Mill Pond, an animal show, a treehouse painting party, goat yoga, and more!

Secure your spot today for these fun and educational programs!

Job Fair Will Offer Opportunity to Those Seeking Summer Employment

It might only be Spring, but the Recreation Department and other town departments are starting to think about staffing their programs for the summer. There are a number of summer employment opportunities listed for the Recreation Department, from camp coordinator to parks maintenance, and Conservation, Burlington Public Schools, and the Department of Public Works are hiring, too. And the perfect place to learn about—and even interview for!—all these opportunities is coming up in just two weeks.

Join town officials on March 20, from 3:30-5:30, in the Burlington High School cafeteria to learn about employment opportunities available in the town this summer at this year’s Summer Job Fair. The town hopes to see you there!
