Daily Buzz | It's Never Too Early to Start Planning for Summer

Good Morning, Burlington!

For all of you who were at the edge of your seats, Baby Buzz did participate in the PowerWheels Derby at Trucktober, and he had a great time! It was touch and go there for a minute, but he even managed to weave through the cones and get to the finish line!

Whether you took in Trucktober, Miles for Mental Health, Trunk or Treat, a walk at Mill Pond, some cider and a good book/movie at home, or a little of everything, I hope your weekend was just what you needed. It was a great pair of fall days, and I did my best to soak it all in!

It's Never Too Early to Start Planning for Summer

As the air starts to cool and you plan your winter getaways or staycations, next summer might feel impossibly far away. But, believe it or not, Burlington’s Fourth of July Committee has already started planning for next year’s parade!

You have several opportunities to get involved, whether you are an individual or represent a business. First, obviously, there’s the walking. Anyone can walk in the parade, and so if you have a community group, a family group, a school, or really any group that loves the 4th and enjoys seeing the smiles and support from the community along the parade route, you can sign up and walk.

Before any of that, though, the Committee needs funding to ensure they have what they need for the parade and volunteers to make it all happen. Funding comes from individual donations and from business sponsorships at various different levels—so whether you can contribute $10 or $1000, there’s a way you can help financially.

Sports and Activities

It’s an all-girls day in sports, with our volleyball teams hosting Wayland (freshman/JV at 4:00 and varsity at 5:45) for their last home game of the year and soccer hosting Bedford at MSMS at 4:15 (JV) and 5:30 (varsity).

That’s all for today, but as fall athletics die down, expect indoor activities to be ramping up.

I’ll see you tomorrow. Have a great day!
