Good morning, Burlington!

This evening, the Historical Society will be hosting author Alan R. Earls, who will tell the story of how Lahey Clinic began. A century ago, a young surgeon and WWI veteran, Frank Lahey, founded the first Lahey Clinic in Boston, and the network grew to include several small clinics around the area. Later, led by Dr. Robert Wise, and in the face of considerable opposition, Lahey consolidated its scattered facilities into one large one here in Burlington. Since then, Lahey has just kept growing, merging with Beth Israel and becoming a Level One Trauma Center in 2019.

Doors open at 6:30 and the program begins at 7:00, at 61 Center Street. As always, all are welcome. The building is handicap accessible and there is no admission fee.
