Daily Buzz | Homework Helpers Pairs High School and Middle School Students for After-School Help

Good Morning, Burlington!

Do you have a middle schooler who could use some homework help, or a high-schooler who would love to support a younger student in completing their work so they don’t have to spend hours on it after they get home from a long school day?

Homework Helpers might be just the thing. Retired BPS teacher, Marcia Murphy, runs this volunteer program, which pairs up middle school students with high schoolers who can support them in completing their homework. Using the website linked above, middle school parents can find and directly contact high schoolers who would be a good fit to support their student. Parents arrange scheduling directly with the homework helper.

Parents of high- and middle-schoolers can contact Marcia by email with any questions.

The varsity girls’ soccer team played Saugus yesterday, despite the rain, and came out on top. Lots of sports to catch today after a rainy Monday:

  • There’s a cross country meet at 4:00: Red Devils host Wakefield at BHS.
  • Field Hockey also plays Wakefield at BHS, with varsity playing at 4:30 and JV at 6:00.
  • Boys’ freshman soccer hosts Wakefield as well; they play at Memorial at 4:15.
  • Volleyball vs. Melrose at BHS: Freshman and JV teams at 4:00; varsity at 5:30.

That’s all for today. See you tomorrow!
