Daily Buzz | Help Welcome Home a Beloved Sculpture

Good Morning, Burlington!

We made it to Friday, which some would say is an accomplishment all its own. And while there are no civic meetings on the calendar until Monday, there’s still plenty going on in our fair town.

One thing you won’t want to miss is the Sculpture Park’s welcome home party for Burlington’s treasured sculpture, Follow Your Heart. The party starts at 10:00 on Saturday morning, and all are welcome to bring their real, toy, or improvised instruments to give our formerly damaged sculpture a grand homecoming.

Follow Your Heart was one of the first sculptures installed at the Sculpture Park, and Town Meeting allocated funds in 2022 to purchase the work of art, which was previously leased. Unfortunately, this past winter, the sculpture sustained damage from an unknown source. Fortunately, the town was able to file an insurance claim to compensate sculptor, Mark Wholey, for reinforcing and repairing his creation. Now, after several months with Wholey, Follow Your Heart is returning home to Burlington.

So, please join members of the community (and have some complementary refreshments from Wegman’s) as our beloved sculpture is welcomed home.

Friday Funny

Have you ever been on a helicopter? Not me, no thanks. Too loud and also too vertigo-y for me.

And that’s it for me. Have a very lovely day and weekend, if I don’t see you!
