Daily Buzz | Help Burlington Keep This Championship Title

Good Morning!

It would appear Punxsutawney Phil was right, as March brings with it warmer temperatures and starts waking up the plants that have been dormant all winter. The bulbs are already breaking through the soil’s surface, and it’s not hard to believe spring will be here soon! Also here soon: Daylight Savings and Ramadan, which both begin next Sunday. Share how your family observes Ramadan and some of your favorite traditions with us, and be featured in our Community Celebrations feature!

We have a handful of little announcements for you today. Read to the end for a chance to keep a very important title right here in Burlington.

The operation took two years to organize and was the largest movement of humanity of history.

The program will be presented at the Burlington Human Services Building at 61 Center Street. Doors open at 6:30pm and the program begins at 7:00pm. The building is handicap accessible and all are welcome. There is no admission fee.

Help Burlington Keep Our Minute Madness Title!

We’re Number One! We’re Number One!

That was the chant heard throughout Burlington last year as the title of Minute Madness Champions was bestowed upon our fair town and its library users. Help keep the championship here by participating in Minute Madness this year!

Minute Madness runs throughout March and pits library against library to encourage residents to do more of what they’re (hopefully) already doing—reading or listening to books!—while engaging in some friendly competition. And participation is easy! All you need to do is fill out this quick one-minute form every day that you read. Your minutes will be tallied with everyone else’s in Burlington, and if all goes according to plan, Burlington will come out on top yet again.

The competition starts today, so crack that book, or flip on your audiobook on the way to work or as you go about your home tasks, and start accruing minutes! Don’t forget to log them each day!
