Good Morning, Burlington!

Happy Spring! With as much as I despise the cold and the snow, I can’t believe I forgot to say that yesterday. It’s all smooth sailing into warm weather and blue skies from here—and hopefully a wetter summer than we had last year. I hear the reservoir at Mill Pond is looking replenished, so here’s hoping it stays that way!

Project 351 is collecting donations of new or like-new clothing (undergarments must be new) for Cradle 2 Crayons from now until Friday March 24. Drop off your donation at BHS!

For those items that are more suited for sports, the Burlington Athletic Booster Club will be collecting used or new sports equipment and athletic gear/clothing from 8AM-1PM at Yearbook/Senior Picture Day at BHS. For more information, email the Booster Club.

Minute Madness is still going strong at the library. Burlington has moved into the third round, which ends this evening. We’re competing against Uxbridge in this round. Don’t forget to log every minute you spend reading or listening to books!

I spoke with wrestling coach, Paul Shvartsman, yesterday, about how the season went for our wrestlers.

This year, the high school team had a good mix of newer wrestlers and more experienced ones. They went 7-10 on the season, a pretty solid showing considering the eclectic makeup of the group. Coach Shvartsman reports the newer wrestlers improved on the season, while the seniors, for the most part, placed at states. Ahmad Kiswani and Marcus Tucci, specifically, placed 6th in their weight classes, while Molly Moroney took third.

This was also the first year for the middle school wrestling program, in which mostly new wrestlers (but also some experienced ones) practiced three times per week and had four competitions.

For next year, the coach is most looking forward to seeing how the new wrestlers continue to develop in their second year, and watching the middle school athletes continue to build upon their skills and join their teammates in high school.

Nice work, wrestlers!

I’ll see you tomorrow, neighbors!
