Daily Buzz | Activities for All Ages in Burlington this October
Talk it out, sweat it out, or have some candy to help you get through
Good Morning, Burlington!
I hope you enjoyed your weekend and had the opportunity to check out some of the beautiful Indian cultural expressions on display yesterday at the Diwali celebration on the Common. The weather couldn’t have been better!
Nothing super exciting in the hopper today, so I’m going to leave you with just a few notes/reminders before packing it up and relocating to Logan and then Durham:
The Public Health Survey is still underway; if you haven’t yet, please take 10-20 minutes to fill it out. The purpose of the survey is to ensure communities know what resources their community members need and have the capacity to provide them.
The Pumpkin Patch at St. Mark’s is open, and the Buzz wants to see your creations! Grab a pumpkin between 11 and 6 any day between now and October 31 and send us your photos! We’ll share the most interesting/creative designs in the newsletter and on social media.
The Parks & Recreation Department is holding a few events in the coming weeks to welcome autumn:
October 7, 10:00 AM-12:00 PM - Fitness Frenzy at TRW Field & Tennis Courts. Free Zumba and Total Body Tone-Up classes, Goat Yoga for $25 with pre-registration. More info in the brochure, p. 37.
October 14, 11:00 AM-2:00 PM - Trucktober on the Common. Food trucks, inflatables, live music, and a Power Wheel Derby! (Registration for the Derby is required.)
October 28, 2:30-7:00 PM - Spooktacular & Candy Cane Drop at Simonds Park (Registration for the Candy Drop is required.)
Each Tuesday at 10:30 AM, the library holds a Current Events Discussion Series. No registration is required; residents are encouraged to join a “lively and respectful discussion … of current events on the local, state and global level.” Registration is required, but the event is free and open to all. If you’d like, bring a local, state, or international topic to discuss.
