Weekly Buzz | Take Out Nomination Papers for April Election Before Deadline
Also, Kindergarten registration starts this week, some winter sports seasons close out
Happiest of Mondays to you, Burlington!
I opened my computer this morning and realized I hadn’t had time to open it since Friday afternoon—a good thing for me, as I has such a busy (and nice) weekend that I didn’t have time to work, but maybe a bad thing for you because I didn’t get the Weekly done yesterday. So here it is, one day late.
Kindergarten registration starts this week by appointment with Pine Glen and Fox Hill. See below for more details. Next week, Memorial and Francis Wyman families can get started.
More nomination papers have been taken out for April’s election, and it’s not too late for you to get your own. The deadline for pulling papers is this Wednesday, February 8. If you’ve been procrastinating, now’s the time to stop! Head down to the Town Clerk’s office at Town Hall, grab papers, and start getting signatures. They’re due back this Friday at 1pm.
Currently we have a lot of potentially contested races on the ballot, but we are also missing candidates from Precinct 2 and 4 Town Meeting!

Sports and Activities
Burlington athletes won individual titles last week in the boys’ gymnastics state championship. Due to the low number of competing schools, there wasn’t a school title this year. Junior, Devin Hazen, took the individual all-around title. Congratulations to this undefeated team for all their hard work this season. Here’s hoping the program expands even more next year!
Our wrestling team finished up their season last week with a 7-12 record (2-2 in the ML12 Freedom Division). Congrats to these guys for all their hard work, too!
Boys’ Hockey took two losses this weekend, falling 1-0 against Wilmington on Saturday and 5-1 against Walpole on Sunday.
Some teams might be finishing up their winter sports seasons, but we still have plenty of sports on tap for the week - from basketball to Girls’ Gymnastics and everything in between.
Today, the Middlesex League Indoor Track & Field Championship meet will be held at 4:30 at New Balance and Girls’ hockey in Lexington at 6:30.
I’ll leave it at that. Have a great week!
