Daily Buzz | Ballot Set for April 1 Election
Also, Come Support Basketball Team for Senior Night
Good Morning, Burlington!
The ballot is officially set for the April 1 election. Not everyone who pulled papers returned them, so here is how the chips fell:
- For town-wide seats, we have contested elections for Recreation Commission (2 candidates for 3 seats) and School Committee (3 candidates for 2 seats).
- For Town Meeting seats, we have contested races in Precincts 1, 5, and 7, and open seats in Precincts 2, 3, 4, and 7. (If you’re wondering how you could have both a contested race and an open seat, the answer is that the full-term race in Precinct 7 has 7 candidates for six spots, but the two-year term has only one candidate for two spots.
All is not lost for those seats that remain open: Candidates can run a write-in campaign to fill that seat. You start thinking about that now—I’ll tell you more soon.

Friday Funny
I’m the kind of person who can’t help being, like, one minute late because “I just needed to finish what I was doing.” I cut things too close and then end up a minute or two behind. Can you relate?
Don’t forget, school vacation week kicks off with President’s Day on Monday! I’m going to shut down operations for the long weekend, and I’ll see you back here Monday or Tuesday. Have a great time!
