Burlington Resident Celebrates 100th Birthday
And the town gains a special day
April 8, 2022, will now be known as Olga S. De Diaz Day in the town of Burlington, in honor of the long-time Burlington resident’s 100th birthday last week.
Olga was born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, and she worked at Puerto Rico’s Labor Department for many years before coming to Burlington in the 80s. She has a degree in education and worked in both Burlington and Boston teaching English as a Second Language. In addition to her professional work, Olga volunteered as a receptionist at St. Malachy’s and as a Lay Eucharistic Minister at Lahey Hospital.
Olga enjoys spending time with her family and texting her grandchildren; the current great-grandchildren count is nine, with more on the way. She also likes gardening decorating, and quilting.
Select Board member Mike Runyan joined Olga to celebrate, and the Board wishes her a very happy birthday with many more to come.
