SO YOU THINK YOU WANT TO RUN FOR LOCAL OFFICE  |  DECEMBER 4, 2024  |  6:30-7:30 PM  |   SIGN UP HERE FOR THE WEBINAR

Have you ever wanted to become more involved in your community, but you're not sure how to get started?

Or maybe you've watched a public meeting and thought, "I could make a difference if I were in one of those seats."

Why not put those thoughts into action?

Burlington's local election is coming up on April 5, 2024. Running for, and serving in, local office is a great way to get to know the town and its unique features and needs, and to have a hand in shaping your community's future.

April might seem far away, but nomination papers will be available just after the first of the year, and Town Clerk Amy Warfield wants to be sure prospective candidates have all the information they need before then. That's why Burlington Buzz is hosting Amy in conversation on December 4, 2024, from 6:30-7:30 PM  in a free virtual webinar where we will answer all your questions about running for local office:

  • What are the requirements?
  • What important dates should you keep in mind?
  • What does each Board do, how often do they meet, and what is the time commitment?
  • When should candidates begin campaigning?
  • Other questions you have will be answered in the Q&A session.

This is a chance for potential candidates for local office in Burlington's April 5, 2025, election to learn more and feel prepared to launch their campaign while still keeping their interest private for now. The webinar format will allow guests to join and ask questions without seeing who else is on the call. We hope this will encourage anyone who is interested in running for local office to join us for an informative conversation that will set you up for success!
